Don’t you love how our modern medicine seems to take us full circle with recommendations?  How many of you remember the day they told us not to eat chocolate and now it is wonderful for us?  Or, remember when coffee was horrible and now it is back on the good list?

I know that you have probably read articles that claim that cleansing should be done often and you have probably found research that indicates that all cleanses are bad for you.  I would say that both sides have valid arguments.  The key to this question is what is best for you as an individual?  What is right for your family member or friend may NOT be right for you.

In general, cleansing is a very good idea. In addition, summertime is the absolute best time for trying it. If you can answer yes to any of these questions below, then I would say a cleanse program is something you should consider.

  • Are you exposed to diesel fumes, exhaust fumes, or gasoline?
  • Are you exposed to nail polish, perfume, hairspray, or other cosmetics?
  • Are chemicals used in your home cleaning products:  bleach, furniture polish, floor wax, window cleaners?
  • Do you get your home treated with pesticides?
  • Are you a dentist, painter, farm worker or construction worker?
  • Have you noticed a change in your health since you moved into your new home, apartment, or new office building?
  • Are you exposed to dust, tobacco smoke, varnish, overstuffed furniture, mothballs, and incense in your home or office?
  • Do you eat processed foods: breads, pastas, baked goods, margarine, fried foods, etc.?

While this is just a small list of items, if you answered “yes” to any of these questions, it might be a good idea to consider a cleanse program. Let me caution you.  Do not just go buy any cleanse off the shelf.  It is important that you work with a trained health practitioner that can guide you through a cleanse program and help you avoid problems that a cleanse program may contribute to your overall health.

You got it, a cleanse program may not be right for everyone!  Why is that you might be asking?  The reason is that some people may not have the proper detoxification pathways cleared to allow their body to dump the toxins that a cleanse program may produce.  This might cause someone to feel worse on a cleanse program than they did before they started.

This does not mean a cleanse program is a bad thing, it just means it is well worth it to have a cleanse program unique for your special health needs.  The following cleanses are available to cover the most general issues facing our populations today.
